Hello, World — This Is My Corner of the Internet

Every developer writes a "Hello, World" at some point. This is mine — except instead of a terminal, it's a blog.

My name is Muhammed Arda Cetiner. I'm a full-stack developer based in Turkey, and I've been building things for the web for the past eight years. Websites, web applications, APIs, admin panels — the full stack, end to end. My go-to tools are PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, and whatever CSS it takes to make things look right. I work remotely with clients from different parts of the world, which means I've learned that clean code and clear communication matter equally.

Why a blog?

I've been putting this off for years. Not because I didn't want to write, but because I kept waiting for the "right time" — the right setup, the right topics, the right version of myself that felt worth reading. That's a trap, and I finally stopped falling for it.

The honest reason I'm starting this: I learn by writing. When I can explain something clearly enough to put it on a page, I know I actually understand it. When I can't, I find out where the gaps are. Either way, something useful happens.

There's also a secondary reason. Eight years of building things leaves a lot of knowledge in your head that never gets written down. Debugging sessions that took days. Architectural decisions I've regretted. Patterns that saved me. None of that lives anywhere except in my memory, which is not a reliable storage system. This blog is my attempt to fix that.

What I'll write about

Mostly technical things. PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Linux, Docker, security, performance — whatever I'm working on or thinking about. I won't force a schedule or a format. Some posts will be long deep-dives, some will be short notes. The only rule is that it has to be something I actually have something to say about.

I'll also write about things outside of code. I've been training at the gym for five years — bodybuilding, four days a week, split routine. It's the most consistent thing in my life outside of work, and occasionally I'll write about that. I play games when I can: CS2, Rust, Elden Ring, RDR2. Some of those might show up here too.

This blog itself

One more thing worth mentioning: this blog is built from scratch. No WordPress, no Ghost, no framework. Plain PHP, MySQL, a bit of JavaScript, and CSS I wrote myself. It scores 99 on Lighthouse and has zero external dependencies in the codebase. I open-sourced it — you can find it on my GitHub if you want to build something similar.

I'm not promising consistency. I'm not promising a niche. What I'm promising is that when I write something, it'll be worth reading.

Let's go.
